Sargey's tossing
practice has worked wonders; not only did he win the toss again, but his
wrist is now so strong he can bowl a flipper (well that's what he says).
It looked like he'd made the wrong decision as Whittle got off to a steady
start and were 60 without loss after 21 overs. Parkey came to the rescue
and removed one of the openers, promptly followed by Sargey who bagged the
other. After that it was a fairly steady fall of wickets, with four more
for Sargey, including a fine forward diving catch by George Thomas, keeping
wicket for us for the first time. 108 all out, and 50 overs for us to get
them.
Col was soon joined by Ingers and together they raced to 70 with two
huge sixes to Ingers. Not to be outdone, Col put one in the lodge. After
a long time the ball was retrieved and was as wet as the trouser bottoms
of some of Whittles' players who had obviously taken the time to have
a quick slash. When Col was out only ten runs were needed so no bother
there. Home and dry with 30 overs to spare. |
